• How heavy is the item being hoisted? 
• Are there obstacles in the way such as power lines, trees, septic fields or parked cars?
• Is there a firm level area for the crane to set up?
• What is the radius of the lift? (Calculate from the center of the crane, to the center of the item being lifted)
• If hoisting an item to the roof, what is the height of the building?
• Is traffic control required?
• What is the value of the item being hoisted? Will additional insurance be required?
